WHAT WE'RE SEEKING

Are you a PGA professional who loves teaching the game as much as growing the people around you? Do you combine technical expertise with the ability to coach, inspire, and connect with guests at every level?

We are looking for a Director of Instruction who can build and lead Topgolf's golf instruction platform at their venue, driving lesson volume, developing Lead Instructors, and creating programming that keeps guests coming back to grow their game.

Lead Golf Instruction

Coordinate, schedule, and deliver individual and group golf lessons for guests of all skill levels

Utilize swing analysis technology, launch monitors, and teaching aids in all instruction programs

Walk the tee line during peak times to market the instruction platform and offer impromptu lessons

Direct tournaments, leagues, summer camps, and player development series at the venue

Grow the Instruction Platform

Grow the golf instruction program through marketing, community outreach, and partnerships

Work with the events team to promote and integrate lessons into event programming

Supervise information requests related to lesson schedules and instructional series

Develop and implement player development series ideas that drive engagement and repeat visits

Manage and Develop Instructors

Manage and develop coaching and sales skills in Lead Instructors

Build a team of instructors who deliver consistent, high-quality guest experiences

Hold instructors accountable for lesson quality, scheduling, and guest satisfaction

Manage Operations and Budget

Manage club fitting, club repair, and general maintenance of golf equipment

Maintain inventory of golf services tools, technology, and teaching aids

Meet budgetary requirements for the golf services program

Customer Focus | Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

Builds ongoing relationships with guests at every skill level to drive lesson retention and loyalty

Asks thoughtful questions to accurately understand each guest's goals and learning needs

Follows up with guests to ensure their instruction experience is delivering results

Anticipates evolving guest interest in golf programming and adjusts offerings accordingly

Builds Effective Teams | Building strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.

Develops and coaches Lead Instructors to elevate their teaching and sales capabilities

Communicates clear goals, scheduling standards, and performance expectations to the instruction team

Leverages the unique strengths of each instructor to build a well-rounded program

Creates a team culture rooted in passion for the game, excellence in teaching, and guest care

Communicates Effectively | Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Communicates with clarity and enthusiasm to guests ranging from beginners to experienced golfers

Adjusts teaching style and communication approach to suit each learner's needs and level

Partners effectively with the events team, operations leadership, and community organizations

Documents schedules, lesson programs, and equipment inventory clearly and consistently

Drives Results | Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.

Grows lesson volume, programming participation, and golf services revenue consistently

Meets budgetary requirements for the golf services program and manages costs proactively

Drives the instruction team to achieve strong guest satisfaction and retention outcomes

Pursues new community relationships and marketing opportunities to expand the platform's reach

2-3 years of experience teaching golf lessons across multiple skill levels

PGA Membership; Class A Certification preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience managing an independent golf lesson program

Proven record of accomplishment of successful golf instruction

Familiarity with swing analysis technology and launch monitor technology

Exceptional coaching ability and strong interpersonal skills

Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time

Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Must be 21 years of age or older as required by state or local law

Endurance: Keep pace with a high-volume lesson and programming schedule while maintaining energy and enthusiasm
