PGA Golf Internship

Are you passionate about golf and eager to kick-start your career in the golf industry? We are offering a unique PGA Golf Internship at our exclusive private course, where you'll gain hands-on experience in golf operations, event management, and customer service.

Salary: $21.00/hour

This is a seasonal position with targeted start and end dates:

  • Season Start: April - May
  • Season End: September - October

Hours will fluctuate as business levels rise and fall throughout the season. Peak season, with the most hours, is typically May – October.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an exceptional golf experience for members and guests
  • Takes starting times and legibly enter daily tee sheet or in the computer
  • Sign up golfers and take greens and cart fees
  • Sell golf merchandise
  • Control play going on the course when the starter is not being used
  • Provide all pertinent information to the golfer concerning the day's conditions of play (e.g. carts on paths, golf course work) and directions on where they are going
  • Responsible for financial records and accounting functions necessary to open and close and comply with administrative needs
  • Develop an atmosphere of professional friendliness
  • Work with fellow golf professionals on tournament operations from cart staging, to computer management on Golf Genius.
  • Be knowledgeable, and perform at each and every aspect of the golf operation, from players service, to assisting with Junior Golf Programming, as well as tournament operations.

Qualifications

· Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

· Be in a PGA Golf Professional Management Program at accredited university.

· Previous hospitality, retail, or cashiering experience preferred

· Comfortable with speaking with guests via phone and email in a professional manner

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Basic math skills

· Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy

· Ability to resolve problems using good judgment

· Ability to work as a team and/or as an individual with minimal supervision
