Description
This is a seasonal, non-union position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists with the upkeep and maintenance of the city-owned golf course.
Hours are flexible and available Sunday through Saturday.
The salary is commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Mows greens, tees, fairways, rough, and other areas;
  • Maintains flowerbeds and clubhouse grounds;
  • Maintains practice tee and driving range;
  • Rakes bunkers and repairs divots;
  • Maintains effective, positive relationships with the participants and other staff.
  • Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the golf course and clubhouse grounds;
  • Assists with golf course projects and improvements;
  • Must be able to work with tools and operate equipment;
  • Regular, punctual in-person attendance; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and/or Experience:
    • Some high school and/or college education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or combination of education and experience

  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, reach, lift and grasp with hands and arms, balance, talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and smell. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and occasionally works in high places. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
