Job description

Glenview Golf Course, located in Cincinnati, OH, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Golf Course Assistant Superintendent! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
This position will report directly to the head golf course superintendent and will be responsible for managing the crew, administrative duties, training, applications of pesticides and fertilizers.
Salary: $60,000 per year
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • 3+ years of turf grass management experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • A four-year college degree preferred, but not required
  • GCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of budgeting and expense management
  • Must possess basic computer skills - Word and Excel
  • Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business
  • Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
  • Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Position Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and trains foreman, irrigations technician and other employees in the maintenance department
  • Prepares weekly schedules for foreman, irrigations staff and other employees in the maintenance department
  • Monitors inventory of all maintenance equipment and the use of the equipment, preventative maintenance schedule, and safety training
  • Works closely with Superintendent in managing annual budget and maintenance recordkeeping
  • Works closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies to maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedules
  • Calibrates and operates pesticide sprayers
  • Institute and implement all Troon Human Resources guidelines
  • Assists Superintendent in informing members about present and future maintenance activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
