Job description

Golf Digest lists SentryWorld as one of America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses. Come help support the team that’s responsible for making sure we continue to earn that honor! We are seeking a full time Equipment Technician to join us at SentryWorld, located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

What You'll Do

As an Equipment Technician, you’ll work with our Equipment Manager to repair, service, and maintain the equipment that keeps our course in top condition. Additionally, you’ll be:

  • Responsible for hands-on maintenance for all fleet equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, including but not limited to, oil & fluid changes, brake inspections, engine inspections, and general up-keep of equipment from season to off-season.
  • Perform routine repair and maintenance on departmental equipment, including but not limited to oil changes, greasing, blade sharpening, tire repair or replacement, tune-ups, brake changes, electrical troubleshooting and repair, etc.
  • Maintain daily inventory of parts and supply for maintenance shop – responsible for ensuring product supply in maintenance shop for all different pieces of equipment
  • Deliver training program to all staff, as assigned by Equipment Manager. Assist in tracking and logging all equipment training to provide to Golf Course Superintendent.
  • Partner with Equipment Manager to complete daily adjustment of all fleet cutting units - sharpens and grinds cutting reels, bed knives, and blades to maintain golf course quality and standards
  • Assist in record keeping and scheduling repairs, as assigned by Equipment Manager

What it Takes

  • Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Specialized mechanical skills
  • Ability to work irregular hours/days to meet deadlines or accommodate weather conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
