The Food Runner – Cliff House is responsible for ensuring the precise, timely, and professional delivery of food to guests within Wynn Golf Club’s premier dining destination. Cliff House combines elevated dining with the distinctive atmosphere of a luxury golf environment, serving resort guests, golfers, members, tournament participants, and VIP patrons.

This role serves as a critical link between the culinary and front-of-house teams, ensuring each dish is delivered with accuracy, proper presentation, and impeccable timing. The Food Runner plays an essential role in creating a seamless dining experience by maintaining exceptional attention to detail, strong menu knowledge, and a commitment to Wynn’s Forbes Five-Star service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  Food Delivery & Service Execution

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly while maintaining proper temperature, presentation, and timing
  • Ensure all plates meet established quality and presentation standards before leaving the kitchen
  • Utilize proper carrying techniques and service procedures consistent with fine dining standards
  • Coordinate closely with culinary leaders, expeditors, and service staff to ensure accurate and timely order execution
  • Support service for daily dining operations, golf events, tournaments, and special functions

  Quality Control & Menu Knowledge

  • Verify all dishes for accuracy, completeness, modifications, and presentation before delivery
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials
  • Provide concise and accurate descriptions of dishes during delivery when appropriate
  • Ensure allergy requests, dietary restrictions, and special accommodations are executed correctly
  • Develop familiarity with seasonal menus, specialty offerings, and golf event dining packages

  Guest Interaction & Service Support

  • Present food to guests with professionalism, confidence, and attention to detail
  • Deliver dishes using proper serving etiquette and announce menu items accurately
  • Assist servers in maintaining guest satisfaction and responding to guest requests

  Coordination & Team Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison between culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth communication and service execution
  • Relay guest requests, service needs, and feedback to appropriate team members in real time
  • Collaborate closely with servers, bussers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff to maintain dining room flow
  • Adapt quickly to changing business levels, large parties, tournaments, and special events

   Service Precision & Timing

  • Monitor table status with service staff to deliver items at the appropriate time
  • Support execution of multi-course meals with consistency and attention to detail
  • Ensure dishes are delivered efficiently without compromising presentation standards

  Operational Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of expeditor stations, service stations, and guest-facing service areas
  • Polish and organize plates, utensils, serving equipment, and related materials to Wynn standards
  • Complete opening, side work, and closing responsibilities accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure service tools and equipment remain stocked, organized, and operational throughout the shift
  • Assist with event preparation and dining room readiness for golf outings, tournaments, and private functions

  • Adhere to all Wynn grooming, appearance, and uniform standards
  • Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations
  • Uphold Forbes Five-Star service expectations through professionalism and attention to detail
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with Wynn policies and departmental procedures
  • Act as an ambassador of Wynn Las Vegas, Cliff House, and Wynn Golf Club by demonstrating a commitment to luxury hospitality and exceptional guest service
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant, luxury hospitality environment, private club, golf club, or upscale food and beverage operation preferred
  • Previous food runner, busser, server assistant, or related front-of-house experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting high-volume service while maintaining luxury standards preferred
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food presentation, service standards, and dining etiquette
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work with urgency while maintaining precision, professionalism, and composure
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
