GOLF ATTENDANT - Part Time  $15.05 per hour.


The Golf Attendant is responsible for responsible for managing golf operations, maintaining the golf course, and providing excellent customer service. They are responsible for assisting golfers with their clubs and golf carts, as well as providing guests with golf-related directions, events, and great conversation. The Golf Attendant shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the SCP's Culture & Core Values.


The Golf Attendant is required to accurately record all hours of work using SCP's timekeeping system. Accurately recording time is required to ensure that the Golf Attendant is paid for all hours worked as required by the wage and hour laws. Working "off the clock" is strictly prohibited. If any manager or supervisor directs you to or suggests that you should, perform work while not "on the clock," you must notify the Regional Director of People Services immediately. Similarly, the Golf Attendant is not permitted to perform work after hours or from home without specific direction from their supervisor. In the event such work is authorized, all time spent working must be reported on the employee's time record.

The Job

  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Observing guest reactions and conferring frequently with team members to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Resolve guest complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction.
  • Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items.
  • Adhere to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
  • Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts.
  • Customer Service: Greet and assist golfers with enthusiasm, providing information on tee times, course conditions, and other relevant details.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating golf events, tournaments, and outings.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to golfer inquiries and requests.
  • Bag Drop and Club Handling: Manage the bag drop area efficiently, assisting golfers with unloading and loading golf bags.
  • Handle golf clubs with care, ensuring they are stored securely and returned promptly to golfers.
  • Tee Time Management: Coordinate and manage tee times, ensuring a smooth flow of play and adherence to schedule.
  • Assist in managing reservations, cancellations, and walk-in golfers.
  • Course Maintenance Support: Work closely with the groundskeeping team to address on-course issues, such as ball marks, divots, and debris.
  • Ensure golf carts are clean, charged, and ready for use; assist with the staging and storage of golf carts.
  • Equipment Rental and Sales: Assist golfers with the rental and return of golf equipment, including clubs, pull carts, and motorized carts.
  • Promote and sell golf merchandise, accessories, and equipment from the pro shop.
  • Safety and Rules Enforcement: Enforce golf course rules and policies, promoting a safe and enjoyable experience for all players.
  • Monitor pace of play and address any issues to maintain an efficient and enjoyable golfing experience.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting the need for supplies necessary for day-to-day operations of their given areas.
  • Keep in contact with the golf shop counter to ensure an efficient transition for golfers to the course. Coordinating with starters to keep the level of carts and cart keys abundant.
  • Refer all major problems/complaints to a manager and/or assistant manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
  • Inspect, plan, and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.
  • Professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work within POS, PMS, CRM, and other Hospitality-specific software systems.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must have a valid State-Issued Driver's License.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math.
  • Knowledge of maintenance of greens, fairways, and roughs.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules, and methods of play.

Supervision

  • Reports to the Director of Golf.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf required.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to stand and move freely about the property for the majority of the shift.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to frequently handle objects and equipment to maintain the property.
  • Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to work in variable room temperatures.
  • Must be able to work with loud noises.
