Pro Shop Staff (Golf Shop Attendant)
Position Overview
The Pro Shop Staff serves as the primary point of contact for all golf guests and members, delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the golf shop and overall golf program. This role is responsible for managing tee times, processing transactions, merchandising retail items, and coordinating closely with outside services to ensure a seamless and high-quality golf experience.
This position plays a key leadership role within golf operations and may provide guidance and oversight to outside services staff.
Core Responsibilities
Guest Service & Front Desk Operations
  • Greet all guests and members entering the Pro Shop in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Check in golfers for tee times using the reservation (tee sheet) system and verify accuracy.
  • Provide clear directions and information regarding the first tee, practice facilities, and course amenities.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with booking tee times.
  • Act as an information center for the golf facility, including events, policies, and services.

Point of Sale (POS) & Financial Operations
  • Process payments for green fees, merchandise, rentals, and other services using POS systems.
  • Handle cash, credit, and digital transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Issue receipts and maintain accurate sales records and daily reports.
  • Perform opening/closing cash drawer counts and reconcile daily sales.
  • Maintain accurate records within the tee sheet and POS systems.

Retail Merchandising & Inventory
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing Pro Shop environment.
  • Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is properly presented.
  • Assist customers with merchandise selection, providing product knowledge and recommendations.
  • Support inventory counts, receiving shipments, and tracking inventory levels.
  • Assist with pricing, tagging, and merchandising new products.

Golf Operations Coordination
  • Manage and maintain the tee sheet to ensure up-to-date accuracy and optimal flow of play.
  • Assign golf carts and coordinate with outside services staff to ensure readiness.
  • Provide rental clubs to guests and manage rental inventory.
  • Communicate with starters, rangers, and outside services regarding tee time changes, walk-ups, and delays.
  • Assist with tournament and event setup, registration, and execution.

Leadership & Team Support
  • Serve as a supervisor or lead for outside service staff when needed.
  • Ensure coordination across all golf operations teams for seamless service delivery.
  • Communicate operational updates, issues, and guest concerns to management promptly.
  • Support training and onboarding of new team members as directed.

Expectations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming guest experience at all times.
  • Execute POS transactions with accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked Pro Shop environment.
