PART-TIME CLUBHOUSE CASHIER

DEFINITION
To receive revenues for the Golf Course and apply proper accounting procedures in daily operation.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives immediate supervision from Golf Course Manager and Assistant Profession
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Adheres to City attendance and punctuality policies demonstrating dependability.
  • Adheres to all City safety policies (protective equipment, pre-duty precautions checklist, etc.) to prevent unnecessary or unreasonable risk of injury to self, others, or property.
  • Adheres to department dress code policies to present a professional appearance. Should exhibit appropriate grooming and attire for the position and responsibility.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Receive cash and credit payments. Operate cash registers.
  • Be accountable for City revenues of Golf Course.
  • Greet Golf Course patrons. Receive Golf Course reservations.
  • Maintain Golf Shop in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Explain rules and rates of the Golf Course and facilities.
  • Receive telephone calls and take messages.
  • Report daily accounts and ledgers. Assist with tournament functions.
  • Assist with golf carts, Clubhouse and Golf Course maintenance when needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
For indefinite periods of time - mobility within a field environment; exposure to dust/mites; exposure to extreme cold, heat, and noise; writing; walking; twisting body; stooping; standing; squatting; sorting; sitting; seeing; running; pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; kneeling; filing; crawling; climbing; reading; decision making; reaching above shoulder level; using both hands for simple and firm grasping; clarity of hearing; communicating clearly and effectively, in person; fine finger manipulation; operation of pressure sprayers, minor tools, utility vehicles, on and off road vehicles, and golf carts; operation of a motor vehicle through city traffic.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
  • Friendly mannerisms, accurate mathematics, neat and clean practices.
  • Rules and regulations of golf and golf etiquette.

Ability to:
  • Work weekends and holidays.
  • Display firm and direct responses when needed.
  • Present a clean, neat appearance and a courteous attitude.
  • Play the game of golf, and be willing to continually learn more about it.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Some clerical or public relations experience and possession of a High School Diploma or GED is required. Experience playing the game of golf and/or working at a Golf Course facility is preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid Texas Drivers' License.
