Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:


High School Diploma/GED, and at least one year of grounds maintenance experience. Certified in first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) preferred. Possess a valid driver's license. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which includes a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening. Experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in maintenance of golf course grounds.
  • Maintains golf course in proper playing conditions, including greens, tees, fairways, rough, golf shop grounds, and practice facility for patrons.
  • Operates equipment such as power tools and hand tools.
  • Assists in the verti-cutting/aeriation and top dressing of various cuts of turf grass.
  • Assists in the irrigation of golf course and irrigation system.
  • Operates various mowing equipment.
  • Is able to work as a team member to ensure the facility is kept in excellent condition.
  • Maintains a safe and productive work environment.
  • Promotes Terri Pines Country Club.
  • Effectively communicates with all golf course and parks and recreation staff.
  • Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
  • Establishes and maintains sound business and financial procedures in accordance with Federal and State laws, and CPRST system policies.
  • Maintains professional internal and external relationships in keeping with CPRST core values.
  • Work hours may vary, which will include nights, weekends, and some holidays, with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel, and Community.
  • Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Attends all meetings as required by supervisors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:


Work exposes the employee to adverse weather conditions and hazards associated with mowing equipment, chemicals, and general maintenance duties. Protective equipment is required such as gloves, safety glasses, clothing, and boots.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Work is performed both inside and outside and requires the physical and mental ability to operate a motor vehicle, grounds maintenance equipment, and computer. Work also requires working around heights, heavy lifting, and the ability to climb, stand, bend, and sit while performing various job duties. Must be able to routinely lift fifty pounds of weight without assistance.
