Job description

The BHI Club is seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Golf Course Equipment Technician / Mechanic to join our high-performing Golf Course Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a prestigious agronomy operation committed to exceptional course conditions, professionalism, and high-end club standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the performance, reliability, and appearance of our golf course equipment fleet to support daily operations and deliver an elite golf experience for our members. The selected candidate will work under and report directly to the Head Equipment Technician while collaborating closely with the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendents as part our maintenance operation.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on golf course maintenance equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, and related equipment

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues

Sharpen and adjust reels and bedknives to meet championship-level playing standards

Maintain organized service records and maintenance schedules

Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently

Assist with equipment setup and support for tournaments and special events

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized equipment maintenance facility

Work collaboratively with the management team to uphold high club standards

Qualifications

Previous experience as a mechanic, equipment technician, small engine mechanic, diesel mechanic, or golf course equipment technician preferred

Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, gasoline and diesel engines

Experience with reel grinding and cutting unit setup preferred

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues independently

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment

Valid driver's license required

Golf course equipment experience is preferred, but strong mechanical aptitude will be considered

Physical Requirements

Frequently bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for extended periods

Lift and carry heavy materials and equipment components

Push, pull, and maneuver equipment and tools

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Safely operate shop equipment and tools

Schedule Expectations

Work weekends and holidays as needed

Support tournament and special event preparation
