Summary: We are looking for a candidate that is positive, self-motivated, detailed oriented, and can lead a quality staff. This is a unique opportunity to join our team at Highlands Golf Club located at Seven Springs.

The Golf Course Maintenance Staff Member is responsible for maintaining grounds and turf on the golf course in playing condition as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent by performing the following duties:

  • Display friendly, positive and professional behavior with guests, coworkers and supervisors.
  • Uphold the values and standards of the department, company handbook, cash handling policy and safety handbook.
  • Maintain professional appearance with nametag.
  • Operate tractor to till, cultivate, and grade new turf areas, to apply prescribed amounts of grass seed, lime fertilizer, insecticide, and fungicide, and to mow rough and fairway areas at designated cut, exercising care not to injure turf or shrubs.
  • Mow trees, collars, fairways and rough areas at designated height cut, exercising care not to injure turf of shrubs.
  • Operate hand or power mower to co cut turf on green and tee areas.
  • Connect hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on course to irrigate turf.
  • Dig and rakes ground to prepare new greens, grades and cleans traps, and repairs roadbeds.
  • Plant, trim, and spray trees and shrubs.
  • Improve quality of course through maintenance and upkeep.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness through self monitory and following policy and procedures.
  • Use equipment and materials properly.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 18 years or older
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
