Guest Services Representative โ€“ Maderas Golf Club

Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

A Guest Services Representative (GSR) is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests during their stay at a hospitality establishment. The GSR greets guests upon arrival, assists with check-ins and check-outs, processes reservations, handles guest inquiries and concerns, and provides information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions. They ensure a positive guest experience by addressing guest needs promptly and professionally, maintaining accurate records of guest interactions, and adhering to safety and security protocols.ย 

Essential Functions:

  • Works with the Tournament Coordinator to organize all groups/outings that are taking place on a specific day and prepares staff and facility for all these events.
  • Greets golfers at bag drop and unloads their golf bags from their carts.
  • Maintains accurate records of golfers renting clubs, service the customer who is renting golf clubs, and clean rental clubs upon return.
  • Ensures the overall upkeep of the clubhouse, cart storage area and parking lot. Shares responsibility of cleaning golf shops, restrooms, and patio area.
  • Inventories and controls all guest supplies.
  • Assists in monitoring and policing all player service activity and etiquette.ย 
  • Assists in educating players regarding course policy, current cart policy, and speed of play.
  • Maintains the cart storage area and cart wash down area in a neat, clean and orderly condition.
  • Prepares golf carts for play following the standards of Troon Golf.ย 
  • Ensures proper staging of golf carts during the day.
  • Drive and maneuver golf carts safely.
  • Assists players by changing golf spikes and cleaning golf clubs.
  • Performs range maintenance such as: presenting practice facility with practice balls, bag stands, den caddies and/or ball pyramids, and maintains ball inventory over the course of the day.
  • May assist with food and beverage activities.
  • May direct start of play.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance. ย  ย 

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

1 year of experience in customer service, hospitality, or a golf club environment.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of golf.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears.

Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities.

Prolonged periods of standing or walking.

Environment/Noise:ย 

  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • May involve exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Typically sits at a desk or workstation.
