Job description

Established in 2000 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, Bobby Jones Links is a club management and development company serving private, resort, daily fee, and public courses. At the heart of our work is a commitment to serving people and creating exceptional experiences for members, guests, and employees. We live by our core values: Make People Happy, Do What You Say, Strive for Excellence, Be Driven, and Grow Every Day. These principles shape our culture and drive our success. As Bobby Jones said, "The secret of golf is to turn three shots into two." That same pursuit of excellence defines everything we do.
Live Oaks Golf Club, managed by Bobby Jones Links, opened in 1969, designed by architect John F. Stahl. We are an 18-hole, par 71 semi-private course sitting on 130 acres just northwest of Jackson. The course stretches just under 6,600 yards with gently rolling fairways through a parkland setting shaded by 200-year-old live oak trees. Live Oaks has undergone quite the transformation over the last six years with the creation of the Reed House, Top-5 in state wedding venue, renovation of our Roosevelt's restaurant and construction of our "Bunkhouse" which is one the most unique accommodations in Mississippi. Through these projects and future plans, Live Oaks is primed to become a premier destination for all golfers in and around Jackson.
Live Oaks is hiring for Banquet Security. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Monitor banquet and event spaces to ensure the safety of guests, employees, and property.
  • Verify access credentials and control entry to private events or restricted areas.
  • Patrol banquet rooms, hallways, parking lots, and surrounding event areas.
  • Respond promptly to disturbances, emergencies, medical incidents, or suspicious activity.
  • De-escalate conflicts professionally and contact law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
  • Assist with crowd management during large events, weddings, conferences, and tournaments.
  • Enforce venue policies, including alcohol service regulations and safety procedures.
  • Complete detailed incident, accident, and security reports.
  • Coordinate with banquet managers, event coordinators, and local authorities as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems when assigned.
  • Assist with evacuations and emergency response procedures.
  • Help protect company assets and prevent theft, vandalism, or property damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with directions or security concerns while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Direct all venue traffic.

Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on event schedules.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds, if required.
  • Basic computer skills for completing reports and using security systems.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on the employer.
  • Security officer license or certification, where required by state or local regulations.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Skills
  • Strong observational and situational awareness.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and crowd management.
  • Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
