Chief Engineer – Lake Blackshear Retreat & Conference Center

Lake Blackshear Retreat / Georgia Veterans State Park, located in Cordele, Georgia, is looking for a Chief Engineer. We offer a culture that focuses on teamwork and high levels of customer service with an environment that empowers our team members to exceed guests' expectations.

Lake Blackshear Retreat has 10 lake cabins, 24 villa rooms, and 82 camp sites located on beautiful 8800-acre cypress lake with an off-site fitness center, conference center, marina with a lakeside restaurant, 18 hole-golf course designed by Denis Griffiths, fishing and more. We are managed by the Southeast's premiere hospitality management company, Coral Hospitality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely manner and provide great guest service
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties and procedures as needed
  • Lead a team of Building Maintenance Tech I and II to complete tasks
  • Perform a variety of tasks assigned by the General Manager
  • Perform HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting projects
  • Oversee all 3rd party outside contractors
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly
  • Always maintain a professional appearance
  • Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EXPERIENCE:

You have been currently working as a Building Maintenance Tech/Engineer for at least 2 years or at least 4-5 years of experience in a related field. You are currently managing at least one subordinate.
You have proficient knowledge of hand tools and maintenance duties. You have time management capability to accomplish work within established parameters. You have a customer service focus and the ability anticipate guest needs.

Physical Requirements for this Position

This is a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods of time.
