Job Description

MS NOW is seeking an DC Coordinator to support the DC Bureau Chief, Deputy Bureau Chief and the operational needs of the DC newsgathering team.

You'll be a key player in the launch of MS NOW's Newsgathering operation as an essential member of the team. The ideal candidate will have a start-up mentality and an eagerness to take on new projects and responsibilities that grow with the bureau. You'll wear many hats in supporting our journalists and advancing our journalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general administrative duties (i.e. answering telephones, scheduling/planning meetings, filing, planning travel arrangements for executives, submitting expense reports, etc.
  • Prepare and update correspondence, reports, and documents using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Assist on ad hoc projects and other miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisors
  • Maintain basic knowledge of current news events
  • Organize internal and external visits with government officials, newsmakers, News Group and media partners
  • Assist in research and other editorial projects and operational needs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least 2 years experience in television production
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights, under tight deadline pressure, occasionally with little or no warning (e.g. breaking news).

• Ability to take initiative and self-start
• Ability to manage relationships with clients, and interact with senior leadership and talent across the organization

Additional Job Requirements: 

  • Must be willing to work in Washington, D.C
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. 

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.  

Salary range: $26/hr - $31/hr
