Job description

Company Description

VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-changing media and entertainment business and home to trusted brands that shape culture, inform audiences, and build lasting connections. It operates across four core markets: political news and opinion, business news and personal finance, golf, and sports and genre entertainment. These markets are served through a powerful portfolio of iconic and innovative brands, including CNBC, MS NOW, USA Network, Golf Channel, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Versant's sports division USA Sports, along with complementary digital assets including Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and GolfPass.

Job Description

GolfNow is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive new business development across assigned markets by selling GolfNow’s suite of SaaS technology, tee sheet, point of sale, handheld POS, payments, marketing, and distribution solutions.

This role is focused on proactive acquisition, pipeline creation, consultative selling, and closing new revenue opportunities with golf course and resort operators. The ideal candidate brings strong SaaS or technology sales experience, a hunter mindset, and the ability to connect GolfNow solutions to measurable business outcomes.

Why This Role Matters

The Regional Sales Manager plays a critical role in expanding GolfNow’s regional footprint by identifying new growth opportunities, developing qualified pipeline, and closing new golf course and resort partners.

Success in this role directly supports revenue growth, technology adoption, product penetration, tee time utilization, payment efficiency, and golfer participation.

This is a remote role requiring regular travel within the assigned market to meet with prospects, clients, and internal partners. This role reports to the territory’s Regional Director of Sales. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater Philadelphia, Boston, Hartford, Baltimore, New York or Washington DC area.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect, consult with, and close new golf course and resort partners on GolfNow’s SaaS technology, tee sheet, point of sale, handheld POS, payments, marketing, distribution, and related business solutions.
  • Own proactive new business development, including outbound prospecting, discovery, solution presentation, business case development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Become certified to demo and sell GolfNow’s core software products and connect those solutions to prospect needs and measurable business outcomes.
  • Build and manage a disciplined sales pipeline by identifying qualified opportunities, advancing deals, maintaining accurate Salesforce activity, and creating clear next steps.
  • Research prospects, identify decision-makers, understand current technology vendors, and develop targeted sales plans for assigned markets.
  • Partner with Market Sales Managers, Client Success Managers, regional leaders, and internal teams on strategic acquisition opportunities.
  • Demonstrate how GolfNow technology helps operators improve revenue, operations, payment workflows, staff productivity, golfer experience, and long-term business performance.
  • Prepare for in-market travel by securing meetings, developing clear market plans, preparing sales materials, and aligning internal partners.
  • Execute timely follow-up after meetings, including recap emails, Salesforce updates, next steps, and continued deal momentum.
  • Become a trusted expert in the local golf economy by developing knowledge of golf courses, operators, ownership groups, competitive dynamics, technology providers, and market trends.
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience, ideally in SaaS, technology, eCommerce, hospitality, sports technology, payments, point of sale, digital marketing, or another recurring revenue environment.
  • Proven ability to generate new business through outbound prospecting, consultative discovery, pipeline management, solution selling, negotiation, and closing.
  • Experience selling software, point of sale systems, payment solutions, online distribution platforms, marketing technology, business management tools, or similar technology products.
  • Ability to quickly learn, become certified on, and confidently demonstrate SaaS technology products to operators and decision-makers.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, discovery, objection-handling, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfort using CRM tools such as Salesforce, along with strong computer, digital presentation, and internet-based research skills.
  • Business acumen, technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, competitive drive, and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned markets, including occasional weekends or short-notice business needs.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to lead opportunities while partnering effectively across sales, account management, client success, product, support, and onboarding teams.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience selling tee sheet, point of sale, handheld POS, payments, booking engine, reservation, inventory, distribution, or golf course management software.
  • Experience working with golf courses, resorts, hospitality operators, multi-location businesses, owner-operated businesses, or regional ownership groups.
  • Golf industry knowledge, tee time distribution experience, golf course marketing experience, or familiarity with local golf market dynamics.
  • Sales development, new market expansion, strategic account planning, or customer acquisition experience.
  • A college degree or equivalent relevant experience.

You’ll be successful here by demonstrating Versant’s “How We Do It” behaviors: building Trust with partners and teammates, using Teamwork to collaborate across regional and internal teams, practicing Transparency through clear communication and accurate pipeline reporting, showing Agility in a dynamic sales environment, and bringing an Entrepreneurial Spirit to identify opportunities, solve problems, and grow the business.

This role requires a proactive hunting mindset, strong preparation, consistent Salesforce discipline, clear communication, and the ability to bring solutions, not problems.

  • Salary range: $90,000 - $93,000 base + commission.

Why You’ll Love It Here

At Versant, you’ll be part of a portfolio of brands that inform, entertain, and connect audiences across culture, sports, business, entertainment, and beyond. In this role, you’ll help shape the future of GolfNow’s market presence by partnering directly with golf course operators and resort leaders to solve real business challenges.

This role offers flexibility while maintaining meaningful opportunities for in-person collaboration with clients, teammates, and business partners. You’ll join a team that values accountability, partnership, clear communication, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
