Job description

Job Summary:

The Guest Services Staff is responsible for greeting arriving guests, bag handling and parking/retrieving a Guest’s vehicle. Position may also include encompass from time to time as needed the duties outlined for the positions of Valet, Shuttle Driver, Bag and Cart Attendant, Greeter, and 1st Tee Host.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greets arriving/departing guests; able to answer questions regarding the golf course(s) and amenities.
  • Unloads and loads golf bags from the guests’ vehicles.
  • Installs a bag tag on any untagged bag (if applicable).
  • Asks the Guest’s name and writes it on the valet ticket.
  • Inspects the vehicle for damage and issues the valet claim ticket to the guest.
  • Parks the vehicle, notes space number and returns keys to valet podium.
  • Directs guests to Golf Shop, Clubhouse, Practice Facility or self parking lot.
  • Intercepts guests walking from the self-parking lot and carries their bags to the bag staging area.
  • Assists the shuttle driver in loading and unloading golf bags.
  • Keeps the valet area and parking lots clean and free of trash.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Guest Services Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience in high profile, customer service environment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • High school graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely operate a motorized cart using proper golf etiquette
  • Must have friendly personality and enjoy working with the public
  • Must have strong skills in Customer Service
  • Must be dependable

Working Condition:

  • While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with arms and hands.
  • The employee often is required to walk, stand, drive, bend, talk or hear, handle, feel or operate objects.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30lbs occasionally.
  • The employee will occasionally be required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards. Exposure to pollens and dust
  • Noise level is moderately quiet
  • Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
  • Work weekends and holidays
