About The Role:ย 

Theย Associateย Managerย ofย GMPย Maintenanceย leads a teamย ofย Maintenanceย Techniciansย responsibleย forย completing assigned planned andย corrective maintenanceย work ordersย onย GMP manufacturingย and laboratoryย equipment.ย This role oversees GMP maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing, laboratory, and associated equipment control systemsย in accordance withย OEM recommendations and internal SOPs.ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess andย monitorย the condition ofย GMPย equipment,ย identifyingย opportunities forย improvement,ย and ensuring regulatory compliance.ย 
  • Collaborate with the CMMS team to develop,ย enhance,ย andย implement robust preventive maintenance plans and schedules for critical systems.ย 
  • Execute planned and corrective maintenance activities on GMP and non-GMP assetsย in accordance withย Quality and EHSS standards.ย 
  • Accurately account for spare parts and consumables used in maintenance processes, supporting stocking, reordering, and identification of critical spare parts to ensure infrastructure reliability.ย 
  • Provideย dataย insightsย to support capital investment initiativesย aimed at improvingย equipment reliability.ย ย 

Vendor & Contractor Oversightย 

  • Oversee external contractors performing preventative and corrective maintenance,ย includingย supervision, and documentation review.ย 
  • Review third-party maintenance scopes to ensure proper documentation and alignment with internal procedures.ย ย 

Cross-Functional Collaborationย and Supportย 

  • Collaborateย cross-functionallyย withย Scheduling & Planning,ย GMP Manufacturing,ย Supply Chainย QC,ย QA, Quality Engineering, andย non-GMP Lab Ownersย to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.ย 
  • Support equipment handovers and restart verificationsย followingย maintenance or repairs.ย ย 
  • Perform calibrations under the direction of Metrology.

Documentation & Complianceย 

  • Maintainย accurateย maintenance records within the CMMS (Blue Mountain RAM), ensuring adherence to Good Documentation Practices.ย 
  • Assistย inย the development and maintenance of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Work Plan Templates (WPTs).ย 
  • Uploads completedย maintenanceย documentation and other corrective workย summariesย into the Maintenance CMMS system (Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager (BMRAM)),ย while adhering to Good Documentation Practices.ย 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ย years of experience in maintenance and/orย instrument calibration within a regulated environment.ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.ย 
  • Demonstrated experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of complex laboratory and manufacturing equipment.ย 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and instrument issues while ensuring minimal operational impact.ย 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work orders, and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.ย 
  • Strong communicationย skills, particularly in reporting facility issues and coordinating cross-functional maintenance efforts.ย 
  • Willingness to support after-hoursย troubleshooting andย participateย in an on-call rotation.ย 
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearingย appropriate gowningย and PPE.ย 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with documentation practices in regulated industries (GMP, ISO, FDA).ย 
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Experience with CMMS related systems (e.g. BMRAM) for documentation and maintenance tracking.ย

Work Environment and Physical Demandsย ย 

The work environment for this position includes manufacturing, utility, and maintenance areas within a regulated facility, as well as occasional outdoor work. Employees may be exposed to mechanical equipment, moving machinery, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels. Work may be performed in confined spaces, elevated locations, or areas requiring strict adherence to safety and cleanliness standards.ย 

This role requires the physical capability to perform routine maintenance tasks, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and working in tight or awkward spaces for extended periods. The position may require lifting, pushing, or pulling materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.ย 

Additionalย physical and environmental requirements include:ย 

  • Ability to gown and work in Classified Areas of the facility, including ISO 7 and ISO 8 environments, following sterile gowning proceduresย 
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain and navigate confined or restricted spacesย 
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights while carrying up toย 50ย poundsย 
  • Ability to properly wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, eye protection, gloves, and other protectiveย gearย as necessary.ย
