Job description

Title: Fold Glue Operator 

Reports to: Folding & Gluing Supervisor 


Overview:

Scope of Position:

The Fold/Glue Operator is responsible for set up, running, and clearing the folding and gluing, imagers, scanners and cameras in the most efficient manner possible while maintaining established run rate and quality. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Perform line clearance according to standing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and complete all Line Clearance (LC) Logs
  • Have all necessary material staged at the machine
  • Read and understand job jacket instructions
  • Ensure customer sample is at the machine and that first piece approval matches the sample
  • Supervise helpers 
  • Obtain sign-off on first piece approval by supervisor 
  • Perform quality pulls as specified in department SOP 
  • Complete production logs both for Fox and customer if required
  • Ensure machine is set up properly and running to specified rate and quality
  • Identify non-conforming products and place QA inspect tags on load
  • Follow any customer specific requirements for manufacturing, quality, and shipping
  • Report any unclear or conflicting information to the department supervisor
  • Request labels from shipping and apply to cartons if required
  • Perform any other duties as required

Qualifications

Required:  

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a folding / gluing machine
  • Experience using the following equipment:
    • Bobst Media
    • Bobst Alpina
    • Bobst Masterfold
    • Heidelberg Diana
    • Leary & HHS cold glue systems
    • Nordson & Robatech hot melt gluers

Preferred: 

  • Experience using the following equipment:
    • Multifeeder placers
    • Lake Image Read & Print
