Job description

General Purpose: Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places. Locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.

Ensures proper warehouse keeping, order pulling, shipping and receiving

Shift(s) Available:

  • 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

               

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Performs daily preventative maintenance check on all powered Industrial trucks.
  • Must be able to safely navigate tight areas and deposit loads on racks 25 feet or higher.
  • Must be able to operate Powered Industrial trucks from 5,000 lbs. capability to 50,000 lbs. (This would be the electric pallet jack to the large forklift that offloads steel).
  • Must be able to prepare loads for transport, meeting all ISO 9001 standards through D.O.T. Requirements.
  • Be familiar with all DOT placarding for outbound shipments.
  • Must be able to read and understand picking orders and prepare them for shipment to the requesting departments.
  • Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse/inventory computer management program.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team.
  • Conduct, record and report inventory cycle counts.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time, ability to bend and lift heavy materials.
  • Consistent attendance.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Good language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.

Operate variety of equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.

High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.

Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.

Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.

Must be able to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Needs to have strong multi-tasking abilities. Be able to plan work activities, use time wisely and develop realistic action plans.

Maintain a clean & safe environment.

May be required to use RF scanner gun.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the work environment primarily requires the employee to be occasionally exposed to filtered humidity and temperature controlled air between 65ºF and 80ºF and sometimes outside weather conditions, which can include sunshine, rain, sleet and snow, high or low temperature and humidity. The employee is regularly required to work in an office environment and with computers. Work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation and may be asked to work overtime and weekends when needed for special programs or events.
