Job description

Position Purpose:
To support the vision of Andrew Wommack Ministries/Charis Bible College of reaching as far and as deep with the Gospel as possible, with special emphasis on God's unconditional love and the balance between grace and faith, and to Transform lives, train leaders, and change the world, by providing a safe environment for staff, students, and visitors.
We offer a variety of work schedules. Starting pay is commensurate with experience; $18.00 to $22.20/hour, with weekend and overnight shift premiums and a $2.00/hour armed officer pay premium for those who qualify to carry a firearm. A reimbursement plan for the purchase of a Glock 19 is available for those who qualify.
Essential Duties:
  • Protect staff, students, visitors, and buildings
  • Perform foot/vehicular patrols to reduce and prevent opportunities for criminal activity
  • Monitor live and saved video captured by security cameras for suspicious activity
  • Conduct investigations/interviews to gather facts regarding incidents and prepare written reports
  • Operate security systems
  • Handle after-hours issues when assigned on-call duty
  • Render aid and/or summon medics for medical emergencies
  • Attend to a variety of day-to-day staff/students/visitors questions
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Able to wear soft body armor the entire shift while on duty
  • Participate in and complete defensive tactics and other training
  • Possess first aid/AED certification or complete training provided by the ministry
  • Complete all security training provided by the ministry
  • Meet ministry certification requirements to promote to an armed officer position
  • Ability to operate Windows-based computer systems

Requirements:
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith
  • Must sign the Security Code of Conduct
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent is required
  • Reliable year-round transportation
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • May be required to take a medical exam, drug test, or physical fitness assessment
  • Must pass a criminal background screening and have a clean MVR

Experience:
  • 1 3 years prior experience as a security officer or comparable experience preferred
  • Closed-circuit TV (CCTV), door access programs, and security experience preferred
  • Training in defensive tactics preferred
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience
