Athletic Coach
Location: Global Village Academy - Aurora, CO
Job Type: Seasonal - Each season lasts around 8 weeks. Time commitment is 6-8 hours per week, afternoons and evenings
Pay: Head Coach - $1500 per season, per sport
Assistant Coach - $750 per season, per sport
About Us:
Global Village Academy is an innovative charter school. Students learn core content through language immersion in their choice of Russian, Spanish or Mandarin Chinese. GVA is truly a "global village." Our immersion teachers come from all over the world, each bringing their unique culture and language into the classroom. United by a common core, students are challenged to become world class thinkers, capable of engaging ideas using multiple languages and cross-cultural perspectives, through an internationally benchmarked curriculum spanning each language village.
Summary:
Instructs student athletes in the fundamentals, strategy and physical training necessary for individual and team success. This individual will coordinate the development and promotion of the sport program in alignment with the Global Village Academy Athletic Department. Along with the Athletic Director, the coach is also responsible for all matters relating to the organization, administration, and philosophy of the sport under his/her direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with preparing and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
  • Receives guidance and instruction from the AD in general and specific coaching procedures, methods, and techniques.
  • Assists as directed with the oversight of athletic training, strength, and conditioning workouts
  • Provides technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport.
  • Assists as specifically directed, in the recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with CHSAA rules.
  • Assists as appropriate in planning and arranging team travel.
  • The Athletic Coach is present for all practices, games and activities.
  • The Athletic Coach is responsible for student attendance, arrival and dismissal.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Time commitment is for 8 weeks and 6-8 hours per week, afternoons and evenings.
  • Must have 1 years of experience coaching and managing team sports.
