At Agfa HealthCare, we support healthcare professionals across the globe to transform the delivery of care. Our focus is 100% on providing best-of-suite Imaging IT software solutions that enable secure, effective and sustainable imaging data management.

From product development to implementation, our unified Enterprise Imaging Platform is purpose-built to reduce complexity, improve productivity and deliver clinical value. We use our proven track record as an innovator, our in-depth medical knowledge and our strategic guidance to help healthcare providers achieve their clinical, operational and business strategies.

The Global Enterprise Solutions Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving AGFA HealthCare's global solution architecture portfolio. The role ensures that enterprise imaging solutions are designed using standardised, scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectures that meet customer requirements while aligning with AGFA's strategic technology direction.

This is a customer-facing, commercially focused role within the pre-sales organisation, providing architectural leadership throughout the sales cycle and translating customer requirements into viable, competitive, and deliverable solution designs. The role drives architectural consistency across global regions and supports the organisation's transition towards cloud-native, containerised, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery models. Working closely with Product Management, R&D, Platform Engineering, Services, Sales, and Executive Leadership, the Global Solution Design Manager ensures that solution architectures support both business objectives and customer outcomes.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities): Solution Architecture Strategy & Governance
  • Define, maintain, and govern AGFA HealthCare's global solution architecture standards and reference designs.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of FITCO standardised architectural frameworks.
  • Establish architectural best practices covering performance, resilience, scalability, security, operational supportability, and cost optimisation.
  • Drive architectural standardisation across on-premise, hybrid cloud, private cloud, and public cloud deployment models.
  • Act as the architectural authority for complex and strategic customer opportunities.
  • Lead the architectural transition from traditional virtual machine-based infrastructures to containerised Kubernetes platforms.
  • Support the evolution of AGFA solutions towards cloud-native and SaaS operating models.
  • Define deployment architectures for public cloud, private cloud, and sovereign cloud environments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure AGFA solutions remain competitive and aligned with market expectations.
  • Design and maintain cloud forecasting and capacity planning models to support commercial and technical decision‑making.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership, Product Management, R&D, Platform Engineering, Services, Marketing, and Sales teams to align solution architectures with business strategy.
  • Influence product roadmaps and architectural decisions based on customer requirements, market trends, operational experience, and technical best practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance during product planning and platform transformation initiatives.
  • Facilitate alignment between pre-sales, delivery, and support organisations to improve deployment consistency and customer outcomes.
  • Support strategic sales opportunities through solution design, architecture reviews, and customer presentations.
  • Develop and maintain customer-facing architectural documentation, datasheets, design guides, and technical collateral.
  • Present solution architectures and technical strategies to customers, partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Support RFP, RFI, and tender responses relating to infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, resilience, and solution architecture.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) reviews, identifying and mitigating technical, commercial, and operational risks within customer proposals.
  • Analyse deployment feedback and operational performance data to continuously improve architectural standards.
  • Ensure lessons learned from customer implementations are incorporated into future solution designs.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, profitability, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Leadership & Influence
  • Lead and mentor global solution design resources and subject matter experts.
  • Promote architectural excellence and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and customers on infrastructure, cloud, and solution architecture strategy.
  • Drive adoption of standards and governance processes across regional and global teams.
What You'll Bring (Experience & Expertise):
  • Extensive experience in enterprise solution architecture, infrastructure design, cloud technologies, or healthcare IT.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise platforms, virtualization, storage, networking, cybersecurity, and high‑availability architectures.
  • Experience designing and supporting cloud solutions within AWS and/or other major cloud providers.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies and Kubernetes-based platforms.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting strategic customer engagements, large‑scale bids, and complex solution design activities.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Cloud architecture and SaaS operating models.
  • Kubernetes and container platforms.
  • Enterprise infrastructure and resilience design.
  • Healthcare interoperability standards including DICOM, HL7, and IHE.
  • Cost optimisation, capacity planning, and cloud financial management.
  • Enterprise Imaging and clinical workflow architectures.
Success Measures:
  • Adoption and compliance with global architectural standards.
  • Successful delivery of platform modernisation and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Improved solution consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Reduced deployment complexity and technical risk.
  • Increased support for strategic sales opportunities and business growth.
  • Positive stakeholder and customer feedback.
