Job description

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for supporting Heath, Safety and Environmental (HSE) improvement and compliance including field and workshop inspections, HSE audits and participation in improvement projects in our  operations.  This position supports the company's HSE global initiatives as well as local country site management.

Job Description
  • Field and workshop HSE inspections for HSE compliance with internal and external compliance
  • Intervention when at-risk activities are observed
  • Trains, monitors and coaches team members to ensure adherence to HSE principles, policies and standards
  • Provides support for incident and near miss investigations, problem resolution, and appropriate feedback (positive and corrective) within the teams and sites
  • Assists with Worker's Compensation cases
  • Supports Safety Committees
  • Supports all HSE recordkeeping and other administrative activities
  • Assists in environmental compliance and projects
  • Supports federal and state mandated employee safety and health monitoring programs
  • Provides support for other HSE duties or initiatives as needed
  • Attends customer HSE related training and meetings when required
  • Reports out findings and project status to site management
You are meant for this job if:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in HSE preferred or relative workplace experience
  • Prefer professional certification in an HSE-related field
  • Experience in field services and/or industrial workshop environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at different levels of the organization
  • Strategic, process improvement thinking & knowledge
  • Self-directed, goal-oriented and creative, to be able to identify and maximize opportunities
  • PC Skills with intermediate competency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge and work experience with one or more programs or processes such as: risk assessment, behavior-based safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, inspection, auditing, root cause analysis, incident investigation.
  • Must possess a valid DL and clean driving record.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Spends 40% of time in office environment, 60% in workshop or field service.  Some travel may require extended driving times.  May be exposed to possible hazards such as mobile equipment, heavy product, cranes and lifting, and loud noise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Spends 40% of time sitting and operating a computer or workstation.  Spends 60% of time driving, walking, standing with possible lifting, pushing, and pulling.
