Job Summary

The Enterprise Emerging Risk Specialist is responsible for proactively identifying, assessing, and monitoring emerging risks and evolving market trends across the organization. This role combines a holistic, enterprise-wide risk perspective with deep market analysis to ensure the company is prepared to respond to both threats and opportunities. The Specialist collaborates closely with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), strategic insights, product management, product development and other key stakeholders to provide actionable intelligence on developing risk and market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics as well as identification of product opportunities.

Work Location

This position offers a hybrid work schedule. The successful candidate will work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/2 days at home) for collaboration days, team meetings or other in-person events. The position can be based in West Bend or Madison.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

    Conduct horizon scanning and trend monitoring to detect potential risks arising from regulatory, technological, geopolitical, environmental, market changes, etc. and possible impact on enterprise strategic initiatives and book of business.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify, analyze, and share insights/report on emerging risks and/or trends that could impact the enterprise.
  • Build and operationalize a formal enterprise emerging risk program, integrating market analysis and horizon scanning.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, actionable reports and presentations for executive stakeholders, translating complex risk information into business-relevant insights.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing to stay informed on industry trends and their impact across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with strategic insights to identify future growth opportunities.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in the Property/Casualty insurance industry
  • 5+ years of experience in underwriting, risk management, or product management
  • Demonstrated experience in market analysis, product management, or strategic research.
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance principles, products, and operations
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, regulatory trends, and global risk landscapes.
  • Ability to apply an enterprise lens to risk identification and management, with experience working across multiple business units.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Analytical, research, and synthesis skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.

Preferred Education and Training

Salary Statement

The salary range for this position is $96,842-$121,053.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
