Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Network Project Manager to coordinate, schedule, track, and manage network-related changes through BNY's Change Management approval process.

The person in this role will work closely with network engineering teams, project management teams, application teams, facilities, security, and other stakeholders to ensure network changes and projects are properly planned, reviewed, approved, implemented, and transitioned into production.

This is a senior-level coordination and project management role. Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills are essential. A general understanding of networking concepts and network infrastructure is highly preferred, although this is not primarily a hands-on network engineering position.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing multiple activities simultaneously, and ensuring projects and network changes are completed accurately and on schedule.

Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Project Coordination & Requirements Gathering
  • Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Conduct client discussions and coordinate required Letters of Authorization (LOAs) and approvals.
  • Coordinate technical design reviews and obtain the necessary acceptance/signoffs.
  • Coordinate the ordering and provisioning of network circuits and required facilities.
  • Support the establishment of production services and ensure all prerequisites are completed.
  • Coordinate firewall policy creation, review, approval, and implementation with the appropriate teams.
  • Coordinate primary network service activation, migration, and application testing.
  • Coordinate secondary service activation, migration, application testing, and failover testing.
  • Ensure successful production implementation and transition to the appropriate production support teams.
Change Management
  • Create and manage network change requests through the appropriate Change Management approval process.
  • Ensure all required documentation, approvals, and signoffs are completed before implementation.
  • Coordinate internal meetings to prepare network changes for approval.
  • Present changes to the appropriate Change Approval Board when required.
  • Facilitate timely approvals for high-priority or time-sensitive network changes.
  • Ensure all network changes comply with BNY/client standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Track change progress and proactively identify potential delays, risks, or dependencies.
  • Coordinate with multiple BNY teams to ensure the required processes are followed.
Project Tracking & Reporting
  • Attend weekly project/status meetings and provide accurate and timely updates to the Project Management team.
  • Prepare comprehensive project status reports, presentations, and management updates.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items.
  • Maintain accurate project and network documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all documentation created or updated during the project is properly completed and transitioned to BNY.
  • Confirm that newly implemented networking services are operating correctly in both steady-state and failover scenarios.
  • Support the transition of completed projects into ongoing production support.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to prepare professional presentations and management reports.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide clear, comprehensive, and timely project status reports.
  • Ability to understand, define, and track KPIs and project metrics.
  • Ability to prepare and understand ad hoc financial/project reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • General knowledge of networking concepts, network infrastructure, firewall, circuits, migrations, and network change management is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 7+ years of relevant project management experience.
  • Experience managing or coordinating network infrastructure projects or network changes.
  • Experience working with multiple technical and business teams.
  • Strong experience with project documentation, reporting, approvals, and stakeholder communication.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum project management methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Work Environment
  • Professional work environment.
  • Hybrid work environment may be available.
  • Professional attire may be required when working onsite.
  • No regular travel is expected.
Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
1-hour lunch break.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can own the coordination and governance of network projects and changes from requirements through production implementation. You should be highly organized, comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and capable of keeping multiple teams aligned to deadlines and approval requirements.

Important: This is primarily a Network Project Management / Change Management role, rather than a hands-on Network Engineer position. Candidates with experience coordinating network infrastructure projects, change management, network migrations, firewall changes, circuit provisioning, and production implementations will be a strong fit.
