Position: Global Materials & Supply Chain Manager

Location: Valley Green, PA

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position summary: 

The Materials Manager will lead overall supply chain, procurement, & planning for the Mezzanine business unit, supporting manufacturing sites in Penang, Malaysia, Mexicali, MX, and Valley Green, PA.  This role will be responsible for supplier performance and delivery execution, component capacity planning, and operational planning as it relates to the growing business. The Materials Manager will oversee directly the buying & planning functions, global materials support to the sites, managing U.S. tariffs and trade compliance, and driving on-time delivery execution. The ideal candidate would have experience in manufacturing and working in a global environment with experience in hands-on ownership and managing a diverse, high-mix, low volume portfolio.  

  • Lead the materials organization globally focusing on supplier capacity and production
  • Continuous improvement in business processes related to forecast and translating production demand on our suppliers
  • Supporting internal component delivery performance between sister sites and the visibility within the ERP system
  • Respond and drive resolution to customer expedites and requests related to supply chain challenges
  • Collaborate daily with Operations, NPI (New Product Introduction), Project Management, and Product Management to satisfy upcoming schedules and commits
  • Lead supplier PPV, On-Time Delivery, and factory delinquency
  • In coordination with the logistics and the local trade compliance team, ensure all supply chain activities are compliant with governmental and/or industry regulations and company policies. Maintain proper documentation for audits and reviews.
  • Track and analyze global tariff impacts on supply chain operations, ensuring that changes are identified, communicated, and addressed to minimize costs and risks associated with global trade.
  • Provide leadership to a team of direct reports in customer service, buying, planning, and supply chain
  • Ensure optimal material availability based on analysis of customer forecast, reports, history, and capacity planning tools     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics
  • 8+ years of experience in Production Planning, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and MRP is required.
  • 3+ years of leadership & supervisory experience
  • Background in manufacturing processes at component level – connector production would be a benefit (stamping, molding, plating, assembly)
  • Strong background in Excel & ERP System
  • Experience dealing with suppliers globally in all regions
  • Capacity Planning along with Short & Long Term Forecasting across BOM
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across technical and business functions
  • Experience with high-speed connectors such as board-to-board, cable-to-board, backplane, or mezzanine systems

Able to travel domestically and internationally as required
