Job description


We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director to lead our Offering Portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, management, and optimization of our UL Business(Under Writer Labs) portfolio of Fire products and services. This is a unique opportunity to keep Honeywell Fire a leader in early detection technologies, including Smoke Detectors, Fire Panel, emergency Voice Evacuation System businesses. The person will have full accountability for growth of UL portfolio and increase in margin/ revenue against market/ competitors globally. The role will report to the President of Fire business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in product management, ability to provide comprehensive offerings to the market, pricing, profitability and growth strategy, exceptional strategic planning skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful solutions to the market.

Ideal Candidate Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on portfolio management or leadership roles.

  • Co-own Fire revenue and margin goals for UL portfolio as part of the Fire Leadership Team.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for our offering portfolio, aligned with business objectives and market opportunities. Define the vision, goals, and priorities for the portfolio and ensure alignment with broader company strategies.
Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to retirement, for all offerings in the portfolio. Drive innovation and creativity in product development, ensuring that our offerings meet the evolving needs of our customers and remain competitive in the market.
Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive threats. Identify new opportunities for portfolio expansion or optimization to drive revenue growth and market share.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, engineering, marketing, sales, and finance to drive portfolio initiatives forward. Facilitate communication and coordination between teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing management.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new offerings and feature enhancements. Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and adoption.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives, customers, partners, and industry influencers. Provide regular updates on portfolio performance and address any issues or challenges as they arise.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor key performance metrics for the portfolio, including revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimization.
Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure that all offerings in the portfolio comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Identify and mitigate risks associated with the portfolio to protect the company's reputation and financial performance.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Proven experience (typically 10 years) in product management and portfolio management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of developing and executing successful portfolio strategies.
  • Deep understanding and experience of Fire and Life Safety Industry (15 Years) and its market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and customer insights.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of Fire industry Building regulations AOP achievement experience
  • Experience running international teams and working in a global environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA Preferred
  • Relevant domain experience in Honeywell's Fire markets (Buildings, Healthcare, Datacenters, Critical Environment, and Hospitality) a plus.
