JOB TITLE:
English Language Center Office Aide (work-study)
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
English Language Center
Job location: Cheney International Center, UW Campus
Pay rate or range: $12 per hour
JOB PURPOSE:
Assist the English Language Center faculty and staff with daily office operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Providing administrative and office support for the English Language Center (making copies, organizing materials, and assisting with class preparation)
  • Creating and distributing program materials such as flyers, handouts, and posters
  • Assisting with preparing visual and written content for social media channels and website updates
  • Supporting short-term programs and projects by preparing materials and assisting with event logistics
  • Conducting research for international education projects that include travel, workshops, and English language program enhancement

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Other duties as assigned to assist English Language Center and Global Engagement Office units
COMPETENCIES:

responsibilities, and people.
Attention to Detail: Accomplishing tasks through concern for all areas involved, no matter how
small; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks;
maintaining watchfulness over a period of time.
Initiative: Asserting one's influence over events to achieve goals; self-starting rather than
accepting passively; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive.
Consistency: Demonstrates reliability and dependability in attendance, completes work in a
timely manner and meets commitments with minimal oversight. Thorough, accurate, and
reliable when performing and completing job tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Enrolled UW student
Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity working in an office setting
EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS:
This position helps build important organizational and time-management skills, develops communication and basic design skills, and improves ability to present information clearly to different audiences.

WORK LOCATION:
On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
