Job description

THE ROLE

Head of Inventory Control and Strategy

Quince is seeking a seasoned inventory control expert to run our global inventory control program from the ground up. You will own the standards, playbook, and governance that underpin inventory integrity across our entire growing global fulfillment network.

Responsibilities

Inventory Accuracy & Shrink Control

  • ย  Own book vs. physical accuracy targets across all global nodes
  • ย  Shrink control frameworks - identifying, quantifying, and remediating inventory loss at every point of the supply chain

Cycle Count Governance

  • ย  Execute the global cycle count cadence strategy
  • ย  Oversee counts and audit protocols across all facilities and 3PL partners

Reconciliation & Adjustment Root Cause

  • ย  Own the inventory adjustment governance model
  • ย  Drive cross-functional root cause analysis on systemic variances across all functions
  • ย  Maintain SOX-compliant inventory controls, including documented approval thresholds, audit trails for adjustments, and segregation of duties across the reconciliation process
  • ย  Reduce unresolved adjustment volume quarter over quarter with measurable targets

WMS Integrity

  • ย  Ensure inventory records in WMS accurately reflect physical reality at all times
  • ย  Partner with technology and operations teams to identify and close data integrity gaps, latency issues, and process breakdowns within the WMS

Global SOP Design & Process Infrastructure

  • ย  Author and maintain the global inventory control SOP library - policies, procedures, escalation paths, and training frameworks
  • ย  Drive consistency of execution across domestic and international nodes

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years in inventory control, fulfillment operations, or supply chain at a high-volume retailer, e-commerce operator, or logistics company
  • Experience maintaining SOX compliance for inventory processes, including control documentation and coordination with internal/external audit
  • Deep WMS expertise, having configured, audited, and conducted troubleshooting of WMS inventory records, not just used the system
  • Proven ability to build global or multi-site SOPs from scratch and drive adoption across distributed teams
  • Strong analytics literacy: you can write SQL, build a reconciliation model in a spreadsheet, and tell a story with inventory data without needing a data analyst as an intermediary
  • Experience managing 3PL relationships and holding external partners accountable

Preferred:

  • Experience operating across international fulfillment nodes (APAC, EMEA, or global 3PL networks)
  • Familiarity with a variety of WMS platforms
  • Background in audit, finance-adjacent inventory controls, or shrink investigation

Pay Range: $170,000-$220,000
