PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Retail Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the purchasing, inventory planning, and retail merchandising functions for Legends Global at Angel Stadium. This position is responsible for creating and managing purchase orders, maintaining product information, monitoring inventory levels, supporting replenishment strategies, and coordinating vendor communications to ensure merchandise is available when and where it is needed.
Working closely with the Retail Director, Warehouse, Finance, and Retail Operations teams, this position supports inventory planning, product launches, promotional events, and purchasing processes that drive sales and enhance the guest experience. This role is ideal for a highly organized, analytical professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and has a passion for merchandising, purchasing, and inventory management.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purchasing & Vendor Management
  • Create and maintain purchase orders based on Buyer direction and inventory needs.
  • Track open purchase orders from creation through vendor fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding purchase orders, production schedules, shipping timelines, and product availability.
  • Communicate shipment delays, back orders, and vendor updates to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor documentation.
  • Assist with new vendor onboarding, item creation, and product setup within inventory systems.
  • Partner with Finance to resolve purchase order and vendor invoice discrepancies.

Inventory Planning & Merchandising
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment based on established inventory strategies, sales trends, and seasonal demand.
  • Assist with preseason inventory planning, product launches, and seasonal assortment changes.
  • Analyze inventory performance, sell-through trends, and aging inventory to identify replenishment opportunities.
  • Support end-of-season inventory consolidation and markdown planning.
  • Maintain item master data, including SKUs, UPCs, product descriptions, costs, retail pricing, and vendor information.
  • Support visual merchandising initiatives by assisting with retail floor sets, special event merchandising, and new product launches.
  • Develop merchandising guides and product placement recommendations for special events and promotions.

Reporting & Operational Support
  • Generate purchasing, inventory, sales, and replenishment reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Monitor purchasing metrics and identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and inventory productivity.
  • Assist with invoice reconciliation and vendor documentation.
  • Support retail planning for Opening Day, postseason, concerts, and other special events.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and ensure all product information remains current.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing workflows, inventory planning, and operational efficiency.

Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with the Retail Director, Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, Finance, and Retail Management teams to support daily retail operations.
  • Build productive relationships with vendors and internal business partners.
  • Support additional retail and operational projects assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 2-4 years of purchasing, merchandising, inventory planning, retail operations, or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems and implementing replenishment strategies, including par levels and min/max inventory planning.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, sorting, filtering, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with vendors and internal business partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in professional sports, entertainment, hospitality, or high-volume retail environments.
  • Experience supporting purchasing and inventory planning for multiple retail locations.
  • Knowledge of replenishment planning, inventory forecasting, and retail allocation strategies.
  • Experience managing purchase orders and vendor communications.
  • Visual merchandising experience with the ability to support retail floor sets, promotional displays, and special event merchandising.
  • Experience analyzing retail sales and inventory performance to support buying decisions.

Schedule Requirements
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and all Angel Stadium events as business needs require.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required during Opening Day, postseason, concerts, inventory preparation, and special events.
