The Team
How will you contribute
The Director supports the firm's strategic growth efforts across the Global Tax practice by guiding teams on high-value opportunities through pursuit strategy, account planning, standardized methodologies, and the effective use of AI throughout the pursuit lifecycle.
Working closely with partners and account teams, the Director facilitates strategy sessions, develops scalable frameworks, training, and practical resources, and promotes a consistent approach to pursuing opportunities. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution to improve collaboration, elevate pursuit quality, and strengthen the firm's ability to win and grow strategic client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Pursuits
  • Support top tier pursuits and other high-value opportunities by facilitating pursuit strategy sessions and guiding teams through the pursuit lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with pursuit teams to develop compelling value propositions, win themes, and client-focused messaging.
  • Apply AI-enabled tools throughout the pursuit process to enhance research, content development, collaboration, and overall pursuit effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities where strategic pursuit support can add value and help teams focus on the highest-impact activities.
Account Planning
  • Coach teams on account planning frameworks, methodologies, and leading practices to support multi-year account strategies.
  • Facilitate account planning sessions that help teams identify growth opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and align around strategic priorities.
  • Develop training, playbooks, and practical resources that improve account planning capabilities across the Global Tax practice.
Pursuit Excellence
  • Develop and maintain pursuit methodologies, templates, playbooks, and knowledge management resources.
  • Promote consistent pursuit and account planning processes across regions and service lines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI, automation, and process enhancements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen pursuit quality, collaboration, and operational consistency.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Global Head of Pursuits to execute strategic priorities and initiatives for the Global Pursuits Support function.
  • Build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders across the global practice.
  • Share best practices and encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across pursuit teams.
Qualifications
• Experience leading organizational change and capability-building initiatives, driving adoption of new processes, technologies, and operating models while influencing stakeholders and enabling sustainable change.
• Significant experience in strategic pursuits, pursuit management, account planning, consulting, or a related role within a professional services organization.
• Experience supporting complex pursuits and facilitating strategic planning sessions with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop training, coach teams, and implement scalable processes and best practices.
• Proven experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve pursuit strategy, collaboration, and knowledge management.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Salesforce, AI-enabled productivity tools, and knowledge management platforms .

Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $160,000 - $170,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
