Job Summary:

Go Glass is the number one glass provider on the Eastern Shore, and we are looking to hire Commercial Glaziers/Glass installers. We have large commercial projects ongoing throughout the Delmarva Peninsula and are looking for the industry's best. To be successful in this position, you must be committed to safety and quality, efficient, and a team-player. We seek to continuously improve, and this includes our excellent safety program. Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years construction experience required.
  • Storefront metal and curtain wall systems glass experience preferred.
  • OSHA &/or Forklift Certifications a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license/good driving record

 

Essential functions:

  • Remove and Install Storefront metal, curtain wall systems, and other commercial glass structures.
  • Cut, assemble, fit and attach metal-framed and commercial glass structures.
  • Fabricate and install moldings for glass installation using aluminum or steel framing.
  • Load and arrange glass and mirrors onto trucks.
  • Service and troubleshoot glazing panels and systems.
  • Prepare for and complete scopes of work, closely following job specifications, code requirements, and safety/quality standards.
  • Photograph job site conditions and document daily work activity and completion
  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment in your care and ensure they are in working order at all times.
  • Communicate with customers, construction team, and supervisors.
  • Travel to various service locations as needed; Operating and maintaining a company vehicle as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills & Aptitudes

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem Solving; be able to diagnose a problem and identify possible solutions.
  • Time management; planning ahead and utilizing time efficiently and effectively.
  • Multi-tasking; being able to handle multiple jobs in different stages simultaneously. 
  • Ability to use tools such as tape measures, levels, hand drills, and electric saws and other glass-specific tools as needed. Must be able to read and perform basic arithmetic in fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to evaluate information to determine compliance with standards. 
  • Able to work safely at various heights, indoors/outdoors, throughout the year.
  • Able to work off ladders, scissor lifts, boom lifts, platform lifts, scaffold, and swing stages (at any height).
  • Able to lift and carry weight from 75-100lbs.

 

 

Physical Demands/Work environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach above head with hands and arms, lift push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, pull, talk, and hear. 
  • The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 
  • May be exposed at times to either very hot or very cold temperatures. 
  • It is required that the employee be able to work on ladders up to 24 feet high. 
  • Employee could perform work in a cramped space or in an awkward position.

Travel required

  • Travel to and from job sites happens every day.
