Job Summary:
  • Provides electrical support to the facility by analyzing, repairing and replacing parts and troubleshooting electrical issues as needed. Position is for all shifts throughout the week and holidays.

Qualifications:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 5+ years experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  • None required.

Duties and Essential job Functions:
  • Replaces motors, bearings, brushes, light switches, and other electrical components.
  • Analyses motor and other electrical stoppages/interruptions and repairs as necessary.
  • Reads and uses electrical measuring equipment.
  • Reads and follows electrical schematics/blueprints.
  • Assists with instrument repair during tank rebuilds and installations.
  • Works with Controls Engineers to troubleshoot programming errors or PLC faults conditions.
  • Repairs electrical melting equipment consisting of transformation reactors, circuitry, control panels and metering.
  • Understands how to adjust, program and install VFD's and PLC's as needed.
  • Familiar with the use of multimeters, megohmmeters, amp probes, and oscilloscopes.
  • Troubleshoots electrical issues with mechanical Cold End inspection and control systems including glazers, TDMs, cullet conveyors, in line gauging systems (Airline, Rough, End Vision, ID, OD, etc).
  • Makes electrical repairs to glass melting furnace equipment.
  • Maintains records as required.
  • Observes all safety rules and OSHA regulations and performs job in a safe manner.
  • Follows standard operating procedures (SOP, WI, Forms, Flowcharts, etc.).
  • Maintains good housekeeping and 5S.
  • Supports Corning Pharmaceutical Glass activities.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

  • Employee is required to ensure that the Safety Rules and the Standard Operating Procedures are obeyed.

  • Employee is required to rectify any condition considered unsafe.
  • Employee is required to pro-actively support the Health and Safety Team. Additionally, employees with supervisory responsibilities are expected to lead by example, to immediately address any unsafe behaviour and to hold their team members. accountable. The starting pay for this position is $40.89 hourly rate. Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
