Role Purpose

As a Architecture Applications Engineer, you will be the key technical liaison between Corning and its customers, ensuring seamless integration of our products into their operations. By addressing technical challenges, anticipating future needs, and aligning customer requirements with Corning's capabilities, you will play a critical role in driving customer satisfaction, influencing product strategy, and strengthening Corning's position as a trusted industry leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical lead for North American and European customer relationships, addressing technical queries, resolving issues, and ensuring seamless support by collaborating with internal teams such as Technology, and Sales.
  • Support customer manufacturing cost understanding and total system cost initiative to enable a scalable technology for customers that is cost neutral to incumbent technology.
  • Collaborate with OEM partners to ensure equipment, software, and processes exist for mass commercialization of glass technology for IGUs.
  • Work directly with customer engineering and manufacturing organization to understand equipment and process to maximize throughput and maintain world-class quality.
  • Act as the conduit for customer feedback, ensuring technology and quality requirements are communicated internally to shape product strategies, sales plans, and technology roadmaps.
  • Identify unmet customer needs and opportunities for product enhancements, collaborating with internal teams to assess feasibility and drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with development and product design team to maximize window design and thermal performance for triple and quadruple windows.
  • Educate sales and account teams on Corning's technical product offerings to enhance their understanding and engagement.
  • Monitor market trends, identify new opportunities, and drive customer programs aligned with account plans to deliver value while maintaining Corning's desired margins.
Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience as an Application Engineer
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or R&D
  • Proven commercial and technical experience working with customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to large audiences 
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience leading multi-functional matrixed teams
  • Experience in product engineering and working with commercial functions
  • Up to 25% travel required both domestic and international

The range for this position is $80,670.00 - $110,921.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
