Job description

Job Summary:
Assist in the overall operations of the Tennis Department and Pro-Shop. Maintain an environment of safety and cleanliness within the tennis pro-shop. Greet members/guests (by name) in a courteous and professional manner. Maintain and promotes pro-shop merchandise. This position will embody the Carolina Country Club Mission Statement and Absolutes.

Job Functions include:
  • Open and/or close pro-shop and is responsible for cash in register and must balance at the beginning and/or end of each shift.
  • Update and change pro-shop displays as instructed.
  • Maintain pro-shop in an orderly fashion, restock merchandise keeping all displays neat and clean at all times. Groups shoes by style and size.
  • Assist members with retail purchases, accept payments per operational procedures.
  • String rackets as requested.
  • Issue demo rackets to members ONLY; keeps an accurate record of all checked-out demo rackets; follow up with members of unreturned rackets.
  • Is responsible to familiarize with all tennis equipment, existing and updated technologies.
  • Keep kitchen area clean, organized and stocked with fresh brewed tea along with cut lemon wedges, fresh fruit, snacks such as peanuts, crackers and cheese, and other kitchen supplies such as utensils, napkins, paper towels, etc.
  • Maintain alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages stocked in refrigerator.
  • Vacuum and dusts tennis shop (includes bottom of racks, top of shoeboxes, picture frames and glass on racks) daily. Closing shift must vacuum and empty trash cans before leaving.
  • Notify housekeeping of any needs throughout the Tennis Department.
  • Answer incoming phone calls (typically within 3 rings), record messages accurately and legibly with the name of the caller and phone number.
  • Take courts reservations and inputs information accurately in the system.
  • Monitor loitering of unsupervised children and unauthorized personnel in and outside of pro-shop & courts.
  • Report to work on time as scheduled. Is responsible to notify Pro-shop Manager or Tennis Director if running late or absent.
  • Assists Pro-Shop Manager with monthly inventory of merchandise.
  • Report all complaints to the Tennis Director and/or Tennis Shop Manager immediately
  • Attend departmental staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Complete required computer based training courses within the required time frame.
  • Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Tennis Director, Head Professional, Assistant Pro and/or the Tennis Shop Manager.
  • Is responsible for knowing CCC Employee Policies and working by the CCC Mission Statement.
