Summary: The Retail Product & Design Consultant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience while providing expert product recommendations and design solutions for residential and commercial projects. This role combines retail sales, customer service, design consultation, and project support to help customers select products that enhance the beauty, functionality, and value of their spaces.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and build strong relationships through outstanding service.
  • Consult with customers to understand project goals, style preferences, budgets, and timelines.
  • Recommend products and solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Generate sales through effective product knowledge and consultative selling techniques.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries, quotes, orders, and project opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell complementary products and services.
  • Maintain a professional showroom presence and contribute to a positive shopping experience.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in all available product lines sold at the retail store.
  • Clearly explain product features, benefits, installation requirements and maintenance expectations.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare estimates, quotes and special orders
  • Assist with inventory management, merchandising, stocking, pricing and showroom displays
  • Maintain a clean, organized and visually appealing sales floor and showroom
  • Support receiving, order fulfillment and other operational tasks as required.
  • Partner with our Safety Department and Operations Leadership to promote and ensure a safe work environment and ensure all safety precautions are met.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.


Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm


Qualifications:

The individual must be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills as well as proven customer service. Must be able to work under minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks and interact with others in a professional manner. Must have valid driver's license and be insurable by the company.

Education Requirements:

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED; one or more years of previous retail or customer service experience.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in paint, home improvement, flooring, cabinetry, interior design, window coverings or related industries. Experience working with contractors, builders or interior designers. Working knowledge of computers and various computer programs.
