Job description

GLASS INSTALLER (Queens, NY)
Starting Pay: $25.00/hr.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Follow technical specifications and project plans to complete precise glass installations.
  • Measure mirrors, openings, and installation areas to determine glass requirements.
  • Install frameless shower enclosures, custom mirrors, and architectural glass products.
  • Mount glass and mirrors using approved installation methods and materials.
  • Install pre-assembled metal or wood frameworks for windows and doors.
  • Cut, fit, install, repair, and replace glass and glass substitutes in residential and commercial settings.
  • Remove and replace broken or damaged glass.
  • Install glass doors, frames, hinges, handles, locks, and related hardware.
  • Operate glass cutters, grinders, polishers, and other specialized tools.
  • Load, transport, unload, and set up glass materials and equipment at job sites.
  • Use suction cups, cranes, and other equipment to safely position and install glass.
  • Assemble and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain professional communication with clients.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year of related experience in glass installation; experience with shower enclosure installation preferred.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Experience installing frameless shower doors, custom mirrors, and architectural glass is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to safely operate glass installation tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver glass materials safely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolds, and in confined spaces.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
