Commercial Project Manager

Location: Rochester, NY | Pay: $65,000–$75,000/year | Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with job site and project demands as needed

Lead high-end commercial stone projects for an established stone fabricator and installer of premium countertops and architectural surfaces.

We are hiring a Commercial Project Manager to lead the commercial project team at a well-established stone fabrication company based in Rochester, NY. For more than 35 years, we have provided quality custom countertops suited to meet the needs of all of our customers. We work with both residential and commercial clients and are committed to providing every customer with only the finest quartz, granite, porcelain, and solid surface products.

You will lead the execution of assigned commercial projects from contract award through final completion. It is the right fit for someone who wants both the leadership seat and the satisfaction of running major, complex stone projects directly.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Lead the Commercial Side: Own the commercial project portfolio and work with customers, general contractors, fabrication, installation, purchasing, and accounting to ensure project completion with excellence.
  • Marquee Architectural Projects: Deliver complex, high-visibility commercial stone work for top architects, designers, and general contractors.
  • Established and Respected: Join a well-regarded stone fabrication company with decades of reputation for museum-quality work and craftsmanship.
  • Working Manager Role: Combine team leadership with direct project ownership rather than pure oversight.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Personally manage major commercial stone projects from award through final installation.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for general contractors, architects, designers, and owners.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, submittals, shop drawings, procurement, and change orders.
  • Coordinate closely with estimating, fabrication, and field/install teams to keep projects on track.
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications; review takeoffs and scopes for accuracy.
  • Anticipate and resolve field and production issues before they affect schedule or quality.
  • Track project financials and protect margins while delivering the quality the company is known for.
  • Build and strengthen long-term relationships with commercial clients and trade partners.

What You Bring

  • Commercial Project Management Experience: A track record managing commercial projects in stone fabrication, construction, architecture, or a closely related high-end building trade.
  • Leadership Ability: Experience leading or mentoring a team, with the judgment to be both a manager and a hands-on contributor.
  • Technical Fluency: Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications, understand takeoffs, and speak credibly about fabrication and installation.
  • High-End Standards: Comfort with the precision, detail, and client expectations of luxury architectural and commercial work.
  • Organization Under Pressure: Ability to manage multiple complex projects, budgets, and deadlines at once.
  • Strong Communication: Polished, professional communication with clients, architects, GCs, and internal teams. Spanish fluency is a plus, not required.
  • Industry Background: Stone, tile, masonry, millwork, glazing, or other architectural finishes experience is valued; a strong commercial construction background can translate well.

This Role Could Be a Great Fit If You

  • Want to lead a commercial team without giving up direct project work.
  • Take pride in delivering complex, high-end architectural stone projects.
  • Enjoy being the person clients, architects, and GCs trust to get it right.
  • Want a stable long-term seat at an established, respected stone fabricator.

Compensation

  • $65k-$75k per year, with room to go higher for an exceptional candidate
  • Full-time, in-person role based in Rochester, NY
  • Health, dental, vision and life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off, 2 weeks
  • Sick days
  • Paid holidays

Schedule and Work Setup

  • Full-time, in-person role based in Rochester, NY.
  • Monday to Friday, with job site visits and project demands as needed.
  • Active role spanning the office, the fabrication shop, and commercial job sites.
