Job description

Atlas Aerospace PMC (Product Manufacturing Coroporation) in Wichita, KS is looking for Summer Engineering Interns. In this position you will have the opportunity to review customer drawings, specifications, and/or models using CATIA for use within the creation and execution of manufacturing processes. You will help develop manufacturing plans for parts and assemblies, create visual work instructions, collaborate internally to resolve technical issues and help ensure that we meet our customers quality and delivery requirements. 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, CATIA V5, reading customer drawings, parts lists, specifications and familiarity with MRP/ERP is ideal. Effective, respectful communication skills across all departments and manufacturing shop floor is essential as well.


  1. Analyze drawings, manufacturing routers and parts lists (BOMS) or any other technical documents.
  2. Analyze engineering and production data.
  3. Use CATIA software for analysis, design, and drafting purposes.
  4. Reviews customer change notifications and updates accordingly.
  5. Proposes feasible solutions for future overall process improvements.
  6. Analyzes and develops planning from customer requirements.
  7. Establishes Product Configuration Control Information (PCCI).

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Equipment:

Eye and hearing protection may be necessary while working on the shop floor.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

  • Must be able to read customer provided drawing
  • Use of MRP system
  • Knowledgeable in various manufacturing processes
  • Capable of readings portable measuring equipment
