Opportunity

The Senior Software Engineer (Technical Lead) for Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) will help embed GenAI technologies and practices into our engineering ecosystem—enhancing productivity, accelerating innovation, and empowering engineers to leverage AI responsibly and effectively in daily workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Elevate engineering maturity by championing modern software delivery patterns, automation, and best-in-class resiliency practices.
  • Enable domain-aligned teams to operate with greater autonomy and velocity through modular, API‑driven, and decoupled solutions.
  • Drive GenAI adoption and skill‑building across our engineering community, equipping teams to innovate faster and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Perform complex analysis, advanced design, configuration, and develop functions for impactful, high‑visibility tasks.
  • Lead the direction and implementation of solutions to moderately complex, loosely scoped problems aligned with team goals.
  • Deliver efforts independently and by leading other team members.
  • Investigate and resolve critical, high‑impact problems, defects, and incidents.
  • Act as a technology advocate, proactively seeking opportunities where technology can improve the business.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Apply knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned efforts.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year shipping production systems built on LLMs or AI agents.
  • Experience with GitHub, Python, NET/C#, Angular, AWS, OCF, Mongo, DocumentDB, SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern agent frameworks (e.g., Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, AgentCore) and LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.).
  • Proficiency with core agent engineering concepts: tool use, retrieval, multi‑step workflows, evaluation, and observability.
  • Strong software fundamentals—distributed systems, API design, testing, CI/CD—applicable to AI‑augmented systems.
  • Experience defining and driving the technical direction of a workstream or product area.
  • Track record of identifying opportunities and influencing engineering or product strategy through technical insight.
  • Strong communicator, able to describe technology concepts in business terms, document initiatives, collaborate, give feedback, and listen.
  • Advanced leadership skills, able to act when no clear owner exists and inspire and motivate others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent in education and/or work experience.
  • 6 additional years of software engineering experience.
Benefits and Perks
  • Health insurance for employees and eligible family members from day one.
  • 401(k) matching dollar‑for‑dollar up to 5% of eligible pay, with a student‑loan contribution program.
  • Fully funded pension plan.
  • Minimum 20 days paid time off annually plus nine paid company holidays.
  • Wellness program, mental health counseling, health coaching, and related resources.
  • Volunteer encouragement with matching gift and volunteer rewards program.
