Job description

Candidates still need to live in the state of Mass

Hybrid role , Work Location Boston Mass

The selected applicant will serve as part of a team of Geographic Information System (GIS) developers who deliver geospatial solutions at an enterprise level.

The selected applicant should possess an excellent working knowledge of programming with Python, JavaScript, and other languages. The applicant will be responsible for creating geospatial web and scripting applications within the ESRI stack. Applicants will be required to develop custom widgets, geoprocessing services, ETL processes, and integrations across different software and platforms. They will also be responsible for the management of enterprise geodatabases, database servers, web servers, and other cloud-based infrastructure. Applicant must demonstrate the ability to plan and execute the testing, installation, implementation, and support of such solutions, as well as providing documentation. Writing and/or coding samples should be provided.

Other duties include: gathering complete business requirements and gaining business approval before proceeding with solutions, maintaining a list of backlog requests, assisting in the prioritization of the backlog and planning of work streams. Proper time and resource management is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to meeting the minimum requirements for this position, candidates should be comfortable using all aspects of ArcGIS Enterprise, as well as Amazon and Azure cloud-based products.

Candidates must have strong written and oral communications skills, combined with the ability to work effectively with others in establishing cooperative relationships, and in a variety of settings (individuals, groups, inter- and intra-agency, etc.).

A familiarity with agile project management methodologies and the principles and practices of transportation planning is also preferred

  • Experience managing ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, etc) in a cloud environment

  • Data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Voyager, web maps, dashboards)
  • Automation (FME, VertiGIS Studio, Python, Geoprocessing, SQL)
  • Familiarity running/training machine learning (AI/ML) models.
