  About the Role

GIS Benefits is seeking a Senior Sales Specialist to support our growing Employee Benefits team. This role partners with Sales Managers, Account Executives, brokers, and carriers to develop competitive ancillary benefit solutions for clients nationwide.

This is a great opportunity for someone with broker, agency, or carrier experience who is organized, analytical, client-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


What You’ll Do

· Manage the ancillary RFP process from start to finish, including carrier outreach, proposal review, and deadline coordination.

· Analyze carrier proposals and prepare strategic recommendations across non-medical benefit lines, including dental, vision, life, disability, leave, supplemental health, worksite, executive, and voluntary benefits.

· Create accurate, professional marketing workbooks, proposal materials, and plan design comparisons.

· Build strong relationships with brokers, clients, carrier representatives, and internal teams through responsive communication and service.

· Complete group onboarding steps as prep for handoff to the Account Management team

· Educate partners on ancillary products, pricing strategies, underwriting considerations, and industry best practices.

· Support Sales Managers and Account Executives by identifying opportunities for growth with prospective and existing clients.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to internal and external audiences.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently within a collaborative team environment.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new products, services, and technologies.

Requirements:

  Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with an employee benefits broker, insurance agency, or insurance carrier.

· Underwriting experience.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

· Life & Health Insurance License preferred, or willingness to obtain within 180 days of employment.

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer.

· Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
