Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Geographical Information System (GIS) Analyst to join our team in Solana Beach, CA. This position is onsite. The Geographical Information System (GIS) Analyst will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to support USMC range training and safety, to include GIS product development, NGA mapping templates, Spatial Data Standards for Facilities Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE), and rapid surface and weapons danger zone mapping. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Understanding military operations (MilOps) terminology as it relates to geospatial mapping, analysis, and training product development
* Developing GIS products in support of USMC range training and safety using NGA mapping templates and data standards
* Creating and validating rapid surface and weapons danger zone (SDZ/WDZ) mapping via the Range Manager's Tool Kit (RMTK)
* Reconciling databases and developing associated reports while operating autonomously and within a high production team environment
* Multi-tasking effectively to accommodate various simultaneous efforts for both the US Navy and USMC, including environmental analysis mapping and data support
* Developing and maintaining regional mapping, web-maps, and publishing data to ArcGIS Portal
* Demonstrated ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a team-oriented environment
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to travel as needed (less than 25%) Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional GIS experience, or a Certification in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) combined with 4+ years of relevant GIS experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree.
* Strong proficiency and experience working with ArcGIS Desktop or ArcPro
* Proven experience with GPS data field collection and post-processing Preferred Qualifications: * Prior military experience including experience with USMC or US Navy training requirements
* Experience with Python scripting to perform GIS analysis and automate GIS processes
* Familiarity with ArcGIS Portal and web-map development
* Solid time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines Clearance Requirements: * Must be a US citizen with a current or active Secret clearance or ability to obtain. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
* Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
* Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
* Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
