Job description

Job Description One Tech Engineering is searching for a Designer for a position located in Edina, Minnesota. The Designer will be designing electric distribution projects using GIS-based systems and mapping tools. The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card.

The candidate will have previous experience in electrical systems, GIS, mapping, project management, construction, or related fields. Designer Responsibilities: Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from planning through completion. Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, operations, and construction to ensure successful project execution.

Support new residential and commercial service applications and installations. Oversee and manage projects within assigned service territories. Serve as a point of contact for internal and external customers, providing project updates and support.

Collaborate across departments to maintain schedules, resolve issues, and meet project objectives. Perform distribution system design work and maintain accurate updates within GIS platforms. Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess project requirements and verify field conditions.

Requirements of the Designer: Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous experience in electrical systems, GIS, mapping, project management, construction, or related fields. Experience with electrical distribution design preferred.

Exposure to project management principles and coordination activities. Strong customer service and customer-facing communication skills. Background in construction, utilities, or infrastructure environments preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience working with GIS platforms and mapping systems preferred.
