Overview The GIS Data API Integration Engineer manages GIS data models, ETL pipelines, and geospatial integrations for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Department's mission . Responsibilities * Manage GIS data models, ETL pipelines, and geospatial integrations between systems. * Ensure authoritative GIS data accuracy and performance across VA systems * Document GIS interfaces and maintain API configurations, mapping endpoints, and service dependencies. * Support integration of GIS APIs with VA ‑ EISS components and external VA systems * Collaborate with GIS Data / API Integration Engineers to manage ETL pipelines for geospatial datasets * Integrate GIS components with VA ‑ EISS business logic, APIs, databases, and microservices. * Support cross ‑ team collaboration with Integration Developers, DBAs, Architecture teams, and System Teams to ensure mapping solutions align with enterprise standards * Ensure authoritative data accuracy and performance across VA systems. * Document GIS interfaces and maintain API configurations. Qualifications Required: * Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an IT-related degree with 7-10 years' experience * Experience supporting GIS data accuracy, spatial ETL pipelines, authoritative datasets, and integration across enterprise systems. * Experience documenting interfaces and maintaining GIS API configuration details. * Experience working with spatial databases, geospatial standards, and enterprise GIS tools * Proficiency in ESRI technologies (ArcGIS, REST services), spatial data formats, and ETL tools * Public Trust Preferred: * Experience with NCA memorials: eligibility, burial scheduling, interment, monuments; VA Product Owner support Company Overview Integral partners with federal defense, intelligence, and civilian leaders to tackle their most important challenges and deliver positive outcomes.
