Data Analyst #1043

In person position in Tysons Corner, VA 3 days per week

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship is required.  Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

We are seeking a Data Analyst with a strong background/experience with data analysis, business requirement testing, and defect management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Tableau (Server/Desktop/Prep) for creating data visualizations and reports and will play a crucial role in ensuring that our data-related requirements are met and thoroughly tested. 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data to identify trends and actionable insights, using statistical methods and data models to support business decisions.
  • Create clear visualizations and develop reports using Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Conduct spatial data analysis using GIS software (ArcGIS)
  • Clean and preprocess data, handling inconsistencies and outliers using tools like SQL and Excel to prepare it for analysis.
  • Design and implement efficient data analysis workflows to optimize processing and analysis tasks.
  • Test dashboards, reports, and data sources to ensure business requirements are met, and collaborate with product owners to ensure accurate delivery.
  • Create and manage Tableau visualizations, dashboards, and data sources to provide accurate reporting and insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data insights into strategic business solutions.
  • Provide technical support and training on GIS tools, visualization platforms, and data analysis methodologies.

Required:

Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience 

  • Experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role, with proven experience in data analysis, cleaning, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL for database querying and data extraction.
    • Ability to access and extract data; clean, transform and prepare data; perform data analysis; and perform statistical measures such as data calculations.
    • Ability to analyze relationships between datasets and identify patterns
  • Experience with Tableau Server/Desktop/Prep to create data sources and visualization dashboards.
  • Experience with Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify data discrepancies and issues in reports and dashboards.
  • Experience in defect management, user story creation, and testing, including functional qualification, regression, and user acceptance testing support.
  • Ability to evaluate and validate business requirements, providing actionable feedback.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets, providing data-driven solutions for business challenges.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
