GIS Contractor (6-Month Contract)

Dallas, TX · Onsite ~3 Days/Week · Temp Opportunity

We're helping our client build out the GIS support behind an upcoming project in Dallas — and we're looking for a local GIS professional ready to jump in.

This is a six-month temp assignment, with the potential for extension depending on project needs, performance, and budget approval. You'll work onsite at the Dallas office approximately three days per week, with remote work on the remaining days (subject to management approval).

Local Dallas-area candidates are preferred.

The Project

As a GIS Contractor, you'll provide geographic information systems (GIS) support across ongoing operational, analytical, and project-based initiatives. Reporting to the GIS Manager and working closely with other departments, you'll help map minerals and leases for evaluation, map existing and future well locations and maintain well datasets, and scan, georeference, and digitize maps and acreage positions — all while keeping the work accurate, organized, and aligned with company standards.

What You'll Do
  • Create, edit, maintain, and validate GIS datasets and spatial databases
  • Produce maps, exhibits, and cartographic products for operational and business use
  • Assist with digitizing, georeferencing, and maintaining spatial records
  • Support GIS web applications, dashboards, and related tools as needed
  • Troubleshoot GIS-related issues and resolve data discrepancies
What You'll Deliver
  • Updated and validated GIS datasets
  • Project-specific maps and exhibits
  • Spatial analysis outputs and supporting data
What We're Looking For
  • Hands-on experience with GIS software platforms such as ArcGIS Pro and related GIS tools
  • Experience managing spatial data and geodatabases
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in energy, oil amp; gas, utilities, engineering, or infrastructure industries preferred
Schedule amp; Location
  • Standard business-hours schedule unless otherwise approved
  • Onsite approximately three (3) days per week in Dallas
  • Remote work on remaining business days based on project requirements and management approval — you'll need reliable internet connectivity and to stay reachable during working hours
  • Local Dallas, TX candidates preferred
