Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced GIS Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise geospatial solutions. The role focuses on defining GIS architecture strategies, integrating geospatial platforms with enterprise systems, and supporting scalable GIS applications across web, mobile, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in GIS technologies, spatial data management, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise solution architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Define and implement GIS architecture strategies ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with enterprise IT standards
โ€ข Lead the design and implementation of enterprise GIS platforms including system integrations, data flows, and services architecture
โ€ข Design, develop, and deploy GIS applications and tools using Python including web-mapping applications and automation scripts
โ€ข Develop and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
โ€ข Implement GIS solutions leveraging cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS for data processing and application hosting
โ€ข Manage and optimize spatial data storage using enterprise geodatabases including PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, and Oracle
โ€ข Work with geospatial data formats including vector and raster datasets for enterprise GIS systems
โ€ข Automate GIS workflows using Python libraries such as GDAL, GeoPandas, and ArcPy
โ€ข Perform advanced spatial analysis including clustering, spatial regression, and geospatial modeling
โ€ข Support deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of GIS servers, portals, and geodatabases
โ€ข Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional and non-functional requirements for GIS solutions
Integration & Enterprise Collaboration:
โ€ข Architect API-based integrations using RESTful and SOAP services between GIS and enterprise platforms
โ€ข Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and cloud engineering teams to ensure secure and efficient deployments
Required Skills & Experience:
โ€ข Strong expertise in enterprise GIS architecture and geospatial platform design
โ€ข Hands-on experience with GIS technologies and geospatial data processing
โ€ข Strong Python development experience for GIS automation and application development
โ€ข Experience with spatial data management and geodatabases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle)
โ€ข Experience building and managing GIS solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
โ€ข Knowledge of GIS server platforms, portals, and enterprise GIS deployments
โ€ข Experience with API integrations and enterprise system connectivity
