Job description

We are looking for a German Language Lead to drive our member experience in German speaking markets. This position is multi‑disciplinary, spanning nearly every aspect of our subscription video on demand (SVOD) business.

The ideal candidate is a German native with a strong understanding of the German cultural landscape, highly organized, self‑driven, an excellent communicator, fluent in modern AI tools, and passionate about Gaia’s content and mission of evolving the expansion of consciousness. This is an onsite role in our office in Boulder, Colorado and requires a current US visa. Must be able to work on campus in Louisville, CO. Active Gaia membership strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Overall health of our German language business. You will be the leader in terms of seeing our business uniquely from the perspective of the German language speaker, customer and market.
  • Advocate for the German language business within Gaia and collaborate across the many business functions required to support our German growth and success.
  • Quality assurance in our German member experience; validate all translated content and ensure content is contextually accurate and localized by region where appropriate.
  • Publishing: prepare and schedule German content for release, using our CMS and other digital publishing tools.
  • Determine content localization strategy (subtitling, dubbing and voice overs).
  • Manage the German release schedule.
  • Work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to deliver a quality experience. Scope includes product experience, content delivery and member communications.
  • Work closely with the Customer Relations team to ensure consistent and high quality customer interaction and support for our German‑language customer base.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure all materials are accurate and available for promotional and customer acquisition needs.
  • Work closely with the Content team to influence original German productions, evaluate German language content licensing, and ensure effective integration of localization workflow in content production and post‑production.
Qualifications
  • US citizenship or current US work visa is required
  • Native German speaker
  • Deep understanding of the German conscious media and spirituality landscape
  • Digital product and media experience
  • Understanding of localization best practices
  • Familiarity with, and/or affinity for Gaia content
  • Hands‑on experience leveraging AI‑powered tools to accelerate innovation, decision‑making, and scalable execution
  • Comfortable regularly using English for written and verbal communications on a daily basis
  • A demonstrated collaborator
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Must be able to work on‑site in our Louisville, Colorado office
  • Active Gaia membership strongly preferred
Compensation
  • Range: $80000 - $100000 (USD)
