This position allows for flexible remote work while maintaining close collaboration with an outpatient office team in Cambridge. The work setting is designed to facilitate a collaborative and supportive atmosphere where you will be able to connect with colleagues and clients effectively. Our regular work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their individual needs and challenges.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional and psychological concerns associated with aging.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that address the unique needs of geriatric residents.
• Provide education to families and staff concerning strategies to improve the mental and emotional health of elderly individuals.
• Deliver grief and bereavement counseling to families and residents coping with loss and end-of-life issues.
• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions to enhance cognitive functioning among our elderly clients.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to maintain consistent contact with clients, ensuring their mental health needs are consistently met, even in remote settings.

This role specifically caters to elderly individuals within our Geriatric Care Clinic, focusing on their unique mental health needs. Clients may present with a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and cognitive decline. Your expertise will play a crucial role in developing interventions that promote mental well-being, enhance quality of life, and ensure holistic support for both clients and their families.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in geriatric counseling or mental health services.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions specific to the elderly demographic.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate relationships with clients and their families.
• Empathy and cultural competency to respect and understand clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Experience in group therapy and individual counseling focused on a geriatric population.
• Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other relevant therapeutic techniques.
• Previous work in collaborative healthcare settings involving interdisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of the ethical and legal considerations in geriatric mental health practice.

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 65,000 to 95,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, a sign-on bonus may be available for qualified candidates, enhancing our strive to attract top talent in the field.
